Why Choose Group Singing Lessons Over Private Lessons?
Many people searching for singing lessons near me in Montreal assume private lessons are the only route, but group singing classes offer unique benefits for young vocalists. Students learn to listen, blend, harmonize, and perform alongside others, which builds teamwork and musical confidence. Group lessons also make singing more social and motivating, especially for children and teens who enjoy learning with peers. This supportive setting helps students overcome shyness, improve stage presence, and stay excited about vocal growth.
Ensemble & Harmony Skills
Group lessons teach students to listen, blend, and perform with others. Harmonising is a skill that only develops in a group context — and it’s one of the most musically rewarding experiences a singer can have.
Social Energy & Motivation
Singing alongside peers creates shared excitement and natural accountability. When one student nails a harmony, others are inspired to do the same. This is especially powerful for children aged 7–16.
Confidence & Stage Presence
Regular performance within a safe group setting gradually reduces stage anxiety. WIMA students perform at semester recitals, and that journey begins right here in the group classroom.
Harmony Fusion — Group Singing Lessons for Ages 11–16
Ready to take singing to the next level? Harmony Fusion is WIMA’s group vocal program for students aged 11 to 16 who are ready to explore harmonies, ensemble singing, and real performance skills. Led by experienced singing teachers in Montreal, this program blends vocal technique with musical creativity. Students strengthen their voices, learn to harmonize with others, build stage confidence, and develop the teamwork needed to perform as part of a vocal group.

Frequently Asked Questions About Group Singing Classes
Q1: Are your group singing lessons suitable for complete beginners?
Yes, absolutely. WIMA’s Young Voices program (ages 7–10) and group singing classes are designed specifically for beginners with zero prior experience. No vocal training needed — just a love of singing.
Q2: Where are your singing classes located in Montreal?
West Island Music Academy offers group singing lessons at four locations across Greater Montreal: Pointe-Claire, Côte Saint-Luc, Beaconsfield, and Saint-Laurent. All campuses feature dedicated rehearsal studios and professional vocal classrooms.
Q3: How much do group singing lessons cost at WIMA?
Group singing classes are $30 per session. Sessions are one hour long and held weekly. We also offer a half-price 30-minute trial lesson — a great, low-risk way to experience the class before committing.
Q4: What is the class size for WIMA group singing lessons?
We limit all group singing classes to a maximum of 8 students. This small-group format ensures each student receives individual attention and vocal coaching while still benefiting from the energy and motivation of group singing.
Q5: What songs will my child learn in singing class?
WIMA teachers guide students through age-appropriate repertoire — including popular songs kids love, folk tunes, and choral pieces. As students progress, they explore music from genres they personally enjoy. The goal is always to connect students with music that excites and motivates them.
Q6: Can I switch from group singing lessons to private lessons later?
Yes. Many WIMA students begin with group lessons and transition to private singing lessons as their confidence and skills develop. Our vocal coaches work with families to determine the best learning path for each student’s goals.
Q7: Does WIMA have recitals where students can perform?
Yes! At the end of every semester, WIMA hosts recitals where students perform for family and friends. These events build real confidence and give students a meaningful performance milestone to work toward. Tickets are $10 in advance or $15 at the door.
Q8: What is WIMA’s cancellation policy for singing classes?
WIMA has a 24-hour cancellation policy. With sufficient notice, our admin team will arrange a makeup class. In the case of illness or a family emergency, a makeup lesson is guaranteed. Students may receive up to 3 Make-Up Credits within any 150-day window. The 150-day period begins on the date the credit is issued, not the date of the cancelled lesson.
Q9: Are there any tax credits available for singing lessons in Quebec?
Yes. The Quebec provincial government offers tax credits for music lessons, including singing classes. WIMA students may be eligible — consult the Quebec government website or ask our team for more details when you enrol.
